Finally- we get our own month!

Check out: "August Will Now and Forever Be 'Geek History Month'" - www.asylum.com

http://www.asylum.com/2010/07/28/geek-awards-geek-history-month/?icid=asylum-iphone-url

Surely you've heard of Black History Month, Women's History Month and National Hispanic Heritage Month. But did you know that there is another group of proud Americans who have long suffered from prejudice and stereotyping and that still don't have their very own commemorative month?

We're talking about geeks, who have contributed so much to society, while being so misunderstood. Yet for some strange reason, nobody has ever thought to declare a "Geek History Month."

That is until today. For, by decree of Asylum, August will be Geek History Month.

Why August? For starters, Aug. 6 was the day the first Web page was launched. And, as August rolls on, this Web page (the one you're on now) will be providing a steady stream of posts on great moments in geek history.

Then, on Aug. 18, our Aol mothership will present its first annual Geek Awards in Los Angeles, featuring celebrities who aren't afraid to embrace their more technical side.

So please, join us as we spend August geeking out on geek history.

"This is the coolest thing I have ever seen."

I loved this show when it was on-

'Beavis and Butt-head" -- the show that celebrated the slacker way of life and helped make MTV into a network that did more than just play music videos -- is coming back.

The move to resurrect the hugely popular 1990s animated anti-heroes has been rumored for several days. But yesterday, sources at MTV confirmed that a new batch of "Beavis and Butt-head" episodes are in the works.

Article also mentions-

The return of "Beavis and Butt-head" will be a backdoor( HUH..HUH you said backdoor) means for MTV to return to showing music videos -- something the network was founded upon but abandoned in the last decade to make room for popular reality shows like "Laguna Beach," "The Hills" and "Jersey Shore."

"Beavis and Butt-head," which premiered in 1993, began as an animated short called "Frog Baseball," which aired on MTV's "Liquid Television."

The basic plotline revolved around two shorts-wearing, spectacularly immature teenage pals whose banter was delivered against the backbeat of their constant idiotic laughter.

Some folks used to say about this- "they're sooo stupid!"

THAT'S THE POINT!

Throughout history- the things that make us laugh the most are "idiots" doing dumb stuff.

I am looking forward to the return of Beavis and Butthead!

Sure, "Star Wars" is the most obsessed-over movie of all time. There are, however, still some fascinating bits of trivia that have escaped the attention of all but the most hardcore fans.

Being the brainchild of notoriously egocentric George Lucas, the series is chock-full of hidden gems of knowledge and bits of Lucas's personal life.

Here are 19 fascinating facts about the Star Wars universe that aren't all that well known.

Yep-I once had COWS in my front yard- True Story!

Last weekend- I was showing the House and yard to a friend and was reminded of the time when I had COWS in the front yard.

TRUE STORY- One night in May of 2009 Krissy came running the bedroom and told me- "Honey, there is a cow in the front yard!" Well I of course said- "WHAT?" and went and looked- sure enough- there was a COW- about 8 of the actually.

I of course grabbed the camera and shot some pictures- knowing no one would believe me without them. The COWS feasted on some of our folliage and left behind a few "presents".

COWS

Krissy called the Police and they of course did not believe her at first but a few minutes later called back. Seems the Farmer that lost the calls had called them asking if anyone had reported seeing them.

Krissy- while talking to the dispatcher- saw them driving in the neighborhood. She agreed to go meet them and help corral the COWS.

My country girl!

In the end it became a fun story to share from time to time. Of course Nora slept throught the whole thing.

Now that's a pit stop!

Pack it up and ship it back Kids! Prince says “The Internet’s completely over,”

I think The Purple One is really living "in Prince world".

Not only is the internet over but he went on to say- “The Internet’s like MTV,” Prince concludes. “At one time, MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good.”

Last time I checked- MILLIONS of people have devices that connect to the internet.

Going by that logic- I guess driving cars is "completely over" too!

Good Day!

"so Nora, did u have fun at the beach?"

"yes Daddy! Had fun!"

Sooo cute!

I wish that worked against bugs and stuff

My Smoochie- Nora to her Mother- has a new obsession.   It used to be Caillou-

He was a little whiney but tolerable.

Now- OMG- she likes this--

                                                    DORA THE EXPLORER!!!

IT' S SOOOO ANNOYING!!!  all the yelling and general stupidness- (yes that's a word in my world)

One thing is kind of entertaining- when they are on their adventure there is always a part where they have to watch out for  Swiper the Fox!
He likes to "swipe" things and keep them.
They are able to foil him by saying loud three times- SWIPER, NO SWIPING!
then he stops and exclaims- "OOHH MAN!!!  and walks away.

I wish that worked on other things.  Wouldn't it be great to just yell at the gabby annoying person at the office-
ANNNOY-ER NO ANNOYING!
ANNNOY-ER NO ANNOYING!
ANNNOY-ER NO ANNOYING!

and then they just said-  "OOHH MAN!!! - and went away.

THAT would be pretty awesome!!
