"truth" in advertising!

I was shocked by this Canada Dry Ginger Ale commercial I saw tonight.

They actually say - "people wil be surprised to learn that Canada Dry Ginger Ale has real ginger!"

WHAT?  GINGER ale has GINGER in it?  As Pepper Brooks once said- " I feel shocked! "

But then I remembered something I learned about a popular product years ago
A buddy and I were shopping for party snacks and wanted some guacamole
We grabbed some Dean's guacamole from the shelf and out of curiosity looked at the ingredients- it did NOT contain avocados??

We were "surprised and shocked" !  That is THE ingredient that makes guacamole!

Ken Ober- for those that lived on MTV in the late 80's- he was the host of "Remote Control". This was a great game show for our generation.

It combined pop culture knowledge with fun and whimsy not really seen since.

Yep it's midnight and this is for a video game.

This is the line at ONE store as gamers waited to get "call of duty- modern warfare 2". Had a late night happy hour with some buddies before they got their copies at midnight last night. They worked me hard to get one but I didn't "drink the Kool-Aid".. Yet!

Made the most of the day!

Took advantage of the nice wx and got some outside stuff done. Cleaned up a bit in the garage- put the stakes in the driveway so I don't "over do it" with the snowblower- & got the X-mas lights up!

You may say- "X-mas lights, it's only Nov 7th?". I didn't turn them on yet but they are up and ready so I don't have to do it weeks from now when it's freezing outside.

Halloween memories

Been there and done that!!

I was in the Halloween Blizzard of 1991- I drove around through the whole thing- I dug my car out from Snow Plow block ins- 3 times

During those couple of days I -

Had a great date with a nice girl.

Attended a weekend Church retreat.

I dug my car out from Snow Plow block ins- 4 times

Enjoyed playing in the almost 3 feet of snow that fell.

Gained memories that will last forever!

The best image was- during the thick of it on Halloween night- a foot of snow had already fallen. I was driving on Hwy 101.

For those that don't know- this is a very curvy road so- going very slow due to the conditions.

As I was coming around one of the many S curves I saw something that- now being a Dad- warms my heart- then it was just fun to see.

There was a man in full snowsuit and boots- trekking through the snow- on his shoulder a young child in a matching snowsuit that had a monster costume stuffed over it.

In the Child's hand- a Halloween Pumpkin "trick-o-treat' bucket!

THEY WERE "TRICK-O-TREATING" IN THE SNOW! Now- that is a devoted Dad!




I love my Nora more than can be measured and I can't say I've done something that devoted for her- YET- but I bet I would!

After watching Caillou and a few other kids shows with Nora- it made me nostalgic for MY kids shows- here was a great one- the great space coaster!

Not only have I recently noticed my increased road rage at the"entitled" drivers out there-Today- I need to take issue with a newer "challenge" on MN roads-- round-abouts!

Are we British?- NO!

Did they properly educate citizens how to use them? - NO!

Because of the above could we start seeing more "accidents"? - Maybe.

I wish I had a Spy Hunter car- you know the one with the guns/ grenades/oil slick and smoke.
Then when people "poke the Bear!"- as in STOPPING AT A YIELD SIGN WITH NO CARS COMING BECAUSE YOU ARE SCARED ONE MIGHT COME!!!

I can let loose- AND GET THEM OUT OF MY WAY!

Now if I can only figure out how to make the Government pay ME- OHHHH I'd be happy!!

Man- I did not vote for him and I don't agree with a lot of what he says- but I am hope President Obama does succeed!

I hope he does do a lot of the good he is promising- I just worry that stuff like this pulls the focus in the wrong direction

What happened to People?

Lately I have been subjected to some really STUPID people driving cars!

I have had people honk at ME because I did not move so they could change lanes at the last minute before an exit ramp.

I have had people scowl at me and flip me off because I did not slam on my brakes and get out of their way ‘cause they did not bother to merge 100 ft. back.

I have had folks almost smash into my car in a parking lot while they back out then look at me with disgust- cause they did not look behind them first.

UGH!!! F-ING BOOBS!!

Why do I have to slow down because YOU were not paying attention to where you were going?

Why do I have to yield because you feel more entitled and MUST be in front of me?

Why do I have to slam on my brakes so you can pull out in front of me?

It is not that hard but people need to be reminded- know where YOU are going and drive there while not being an A-HOLE to the folks in the other cars!

When on the road- we are all the same. We all have the right to get where we need to be without SOME DOUCHE-BAG cutting us off ‘cause they MUST be the car IN FRONT of us!

Think it’s the fluoride in the water, less oxygen in the atmosphere, or because Jon and Kate broke up?
